OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma Panhandle State baseball's shortstop Genesis Nunez had four multi-hit games and 12 RBIs en route to being named the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week from Feb. 2-8.

In five games, the Queens, New York, native collected 11 hits, including two home runs, two triples and three doubles. He also drew three walks, putting together a slash line of .579/.652/1.263 during the week.

His efforts were especially notable in OPSU's two wins versus York University on Saturday and Sunday, when he totaled 10 RBIs, aided by two home runs.

In addition to the tear he went on at the dish, Nunez stole a base, scored nine runs and tallied 10 putouts and 11 assists in the field.

Across all NAIA games played through Sunday, Nunez ranks No. 1 in the nation in triples (four), batting average (.538) and slugging percentage (1.192) among players with at least 25 at-bats.

Nunez' honor is the first for Panhandle State baseball this season and the 18th collected across all OPSU Athletics in the 2025-26 year. Those 18 SAC weekly awards are tied for the amount the Aggies garnered during the entire 2024-25 year.

OPSU (3-4) is scheduled to play a four-game series at home versus Randall University (4-1) Friday and Saturday. Stay tuned to opsuaggies.com for all schedule-related updates.
