POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State Baseball team (9-14, 2-10 SAC) was defeated 7-1 in the final game of the series at College of the Ozarks (15-10, 6-6 SAC) Saturday afternoon.
The Aggies battled against the Bobcats in a pitcher's duel early, keeping the score 1-1 until the bottom of the seventh inning when Ozarks scored six runs.
Both the Aggies and Bobcats struggled at the plate, unable to score until the fourth inning.
With one out in the top of the fourth,
Juan Perez and
Jackson Somerville collected a single and double consecutively, and Perez came in to on an RBI grounder from
Devin Lopez.
Ozarks got the run back in the bottom of the fourth but were kept from scoring another until the seventh frame, as OPSU starter
Adam Hinojosa tossed 5.2 innings of one-run ball in the no-decision.
Panhandle State continued to battle but was unable to stop the Bobcats from going on a heater in the seventh inning as they plated six runs, four of which came from homers.
What's up next: The Aggies play Tuesday, March 17 in Alva, Oklahoma, against NCAA Division II Northwestern Oklahoma State University (13-15, 6-9 GAC), with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
