GOODWELL, Okla. — College Sports Communicators announced its 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Teams on Tuesday, in which Heidi Rodriguez and Lyric Carpenter were recognized for the first time in their careers.
 
Rodriguez, a native of Hooker, Oklahoma, majoring in business, had the finest season of her career yet for the Aggies. The junior played in all 28 games and averaged 4.7 points per contest while shooting a team-best 33.0% from deep (minimum 20 attempts). She accounted for over 40% of the team's three-point makes, connect on 37 shots from beyond the arc. Rodriguez' activity showed elsewhere, as the guard totaled 27 steals and a career-high 37 assists.
 
Carpenter, meanwhile, has maintained a perfect GPA as an elementary education major. The sophomore forward also appeared in every one of the Aggies' 28 contests, making seven starts. Carpenter averaged 3.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, and she chipped in 13 assists and 14 steals throughout the season. Her year was headlined by a 12-point, six-rebound, four-steal and three-assist outing in Panhandle State's 69-53 win over Central Christian on Feb. 9.
 
OPSU women's basketball has collected two Academic All-District honorees in each of the last two seasons under head coach Maria Belt.
 
About the CSC Academic All-America Program
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
CSC Academic All-District honorees are nominated by their respective institution's sports information department for exceeding high standards set as a student-athlete.
 
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have achieved sophomore status academically, maintain a GPA of 3.50 or higher and either play in a minimum of 90 percent, or start in at least 66 percent, of her team's games throughout the season.
