Kansas City, Mo. – On Thursday, the NAIA announced the two teams in the return of its Men's Basketball All-Star Game scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, as part of the 2019 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship. Among those named to the West Team is Oklahoma Panhandle State University senior guard
Breiman Alexander (Marlin, Texas).
"Congratulations are certainly in order to Bre," OPSU Head Coach
Aaron Coombs said. "Not only is this a great to honor for him this year, but it really encompasses his whole career. Bre has competed at a high level, as a player who can shoot and has a craftiness to his game. It's not only a special honor for him, but for the entire Panhandle State program."
Alexander capped an amazing senior campaign in 2018-19 by leading the Aggies (16-14) to the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament semi-finals. Alexander was a SAC all-conference second team selection and also named to the SAC's all-tournament team.
Alexander led the SAC in numerous categories, including: scoring (23.5 p.p.g.); total points (657); three-point field goals made per game (4.2), and; total three-point field goals made (118). He was also No. 2 in the NAIA in scoring per game and total points, while topping the nation at NAIA Division I in both three-point baskets made per game and total three-pointers made, as well. Alexander tallied in double figures in all 28 games played in 2018-19.
"I was pretty excited," Alexander said of learning about his selection for the game. "Honestly, it's both a blessing and an honor to be one of just 30 seniors chosen from across the country. It's nice to get to play one more game!"
