GOODWELL, Okla. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University men's soccer team will host Barclay College on Tuesday (Aug. 27), in what will be the second match in program history, in its only action for the week. Kickoff at Anchor D Stadium at Carl Wooten Field will be at 6 p.m.
The Aggies are coming off of a 4-0 loss to Texas College in the program's inaugural match last Saturday.
Live video streaming and statistics will be available via the Panhandle State Athletics web site – www.opsuaggies.com – approximately 15 minutes prior to kickoff.
GAME NOTES:
*BIG BEGINNING- A nice crowd of 792 was on hand for the team's opening match on Saturday.
*HOT SHOTS- OPSU out-shot the Steers, 17-16, in the opener.
*MAKING IT COUNT- The Aggies had a 50-percent rate for shots-on-goal of its total shot attempts (6-of-12) in the first half against Texas College.
*QUICK START- Within the first minute of the match,
Draye Richey had the Aggies' first-ever corner kick and, by the eighth minute, teammate
Matti Vecchi had a pair of shot attempts…all while the Steers were held at bay.
*PRE-GAME GATHERING- Urban Bru in Goodwell is sponsoring a pre-game "hype" gathering for Aggie soccer fans on Tuesday from 3-5:30 p.m. Anyone showing a ticket from Saturday's opening matches will receive $1 off the beverage of their choice!
