DODGE CITY, Kan. – Oklahoma Panhandle State University's rodeo program will be well-represented this weekend at the Kansas Professional Rodeo Association finals, Friday through Sunday, Sept. 25-27, at the Dodge City Roundup Arena. The Aggies will have several current and former team members in the competition.
Current OPSU rodeo members in the KPRA finale include junior
Beau Peterson, who is ranked first in the women's all-around. Peterson sits second in Breakaway Roping and 10th in Barrel Racing.
Teammate, and OPSU newcomer, Kylie Parks is No. 4 in the Barrels.
Panhandle women's rodeo alumna Tanya Goad is ranked sixth in Breakaway, as well as third in the all-around.
On the men's side, senior
Jade Taton site fourth in the Bareback Riding and is 10th in Saddle Bronc Riding. Aggie teammate
Bailey Small is sixth in Saddle Bronc.
Three OPSU alums join Small and Taton in Saddle Bronc Riding. The trio includes: Preston Kafka (4th),
Sam Martin (7th) and
Denton Ward (12th).
LD Meier and
Luke Meier are Nos. 2 and 10, respectively, in Tie-Down Roping. Aggie alum Brian Dunning is fifth in Team Roping.
