GOODWELL, Okla-The Aggie football team (2-3) won 29-16 against Lyon College(1-3) Saturday night.
The Aggies started the first half on a shaky start with a fumble recovery for a Lyon college touchdown. The Scots would tag on a field goal going up 10-0; Aggies would respond with 9 seconds left in the first quarter on a 14-yard run from Freshman
Ed Wilder, cutting into the Scots lead.Â
In the second quarter, Sophomore
Brandon Stephens would connect with Senior
Jaishone Brown on a 59-yard touchdown pass making the score 12-10.
Aggies would take the lead on a 75-yard pass from
Brandon Stephens to Junior
Ryan Acosta to take the lead in the 3rd quarter. Within the first minute of the 4th quarter, the Scots would tie the game at 19-19. With 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter Quarterback,
Brandon Stephens would take it himself for a rushing touchdown to give the Aggies the lead 26-19, giving the Aggies the win.
Aggies Defensively, Senior Â
Jordin Hunter had eight tackles, seven were solo tackles, and Senior
D'Quan Charles had five solo tackles.
After the game, coach Majeski stated, "Extremely happy for our players and coaches. Lyon fought hard. We did enough to win. We need to clean the senseless penalties. But a win is a win, and we will take it".
The Aggies will return home for their Homecoming Game Saturday, Oct.1, taking on Louisiana Christian University, and Kickoff will be at 4:00 PM.
