Panhandle State's men's rodeo team dominated at Fort Scott Community College led by senior, Bailey Small followed by a group of upperclassmen. The women's team had a bit of tough luck over the weekend.

Senior, Bailey Small, was a force to be reckoned with at the bucking chutes for OPSU in the Bull Riding and Saddle Bronc Riding. Small placed second in the long round with 77-points, and finished second the average for the weekend.

In the Saddle Bronc Riding, junior, Brett Coffman, split the long round win with a 77-point ride, but couldn't make the whistle in the short go taking him out of the average. Cade Bell, junior, was a point behind him to place third in the long round and Small fourth behind them. Caleb Newell, senior, placed seventh in the long round with a 70-point ride. Small kept his mind focused marking a 78-point ride to be second in the short go and win the average. Bell stayed consistent placing third in the short go with a 74-point ride and ended up second overall in the average. Newell was hoping for a little higher score to be higher in the average, but split fourth and fifth in the round and finished seventh overall. Coffman couldn't make the eight-second whistle which left him with no score and place in the average.

At the timed event end of the arena senior, Ry Clark, was the lone Aggie in the Steer Wrestling. Clark placed fourth in the long round with a 4.9-second. He made a smart run in the short go with a 6-second run which placed him fifth in the go and the average.

Senior, Ryler Allred, was the underdog going into Sunday's short go after placing eleventh in the Tie Down Roping. Allred ran a 10-second run to placed second in the go and finished third in the average for the weekend.

Clark made his second appearance in the Sunday performance in the Team Roping after placing mid of the pack for the long round with a 7.8-second run with partner for NWOSU, Jacob Herrin. This team came back with a 6.5-second run to split the short go win and finished second in the average. Teammates Bryson Carrol, junior, the brother do of Wade and Clay Pettijohn, and senior Harlee Voss joined Clark. Carrol split second and third in the long round with GCCC partner Brandt Walton, but a miss in the short go left them to split fifth and sixth in the average. Pettijohn duo placed fifth with a 7.2-second run in long round followed by Voss with her partner from CCC Kylor Hogan placing ninth. Unfortunately, these two teams came up emptied handed in the short go.

The women's team stubbed their toe on their momentum from the season so far, but managed to get a few points on the board. Sophomore, Parker McIntyre, started her weekend off winning the long round in the Goat Tying with a 7.3-second run. She held on to her number one spot in the standings, but a speed jam in the short go left her eleventh and eleventh in the average.

Senior, Hope Lutrell was hoping to get her hot streak going for the spring with a 3.1-second run in the Breakaway Roping where she was just fast enough to sneak into the short go. Lutrell made a business run of 4.1-seconds in the short go to split seventh, eighth, and ninth which left her ninth in the average.

Panhandle State's cowboys and cowgirls took time over spring break to regroup and refresh for the last push of the spring season. The men's team is 780 points away from making the CNFR mid-way through spring if they can keep the momentum rolling from this rodeo. They have a few within the Top 3 of events fighting for their trip to Casper in June. The women's team dropped to fourth, but will continue strong the last three rodeos to come out on top. McIntyre continues to lead the standings in the Goat Tying. The team will continue to build off that school and practice before the next rodeo at Garden City Community College on March 31st.
