Women's Soccer Push No. 24 USAO to Scoreless First Half in 4-0 Road Defeat

Goodwell,Okla – The OPSU Aggies women's soccer team faced the No. 24-ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) Drovers. Despite a defensive effort that kept the game scoreless through the first half, the Aggies fell 4-0.

Senior goalkeeper AlaraLynn Gunderson anchored the Aggies' defense, recording six saves in the match. On the offensive side, Jacqueline Escalera tallied the only shot on goal for OPSU.

Head coach Ken McAlpine acknowledged the uphill battle the team faced, saying, "We knew we were facing a tough test today, and we were down several players with sickness and injuries. Given that, we were in a great spot heading into halftime. The team battled and fought hard. We will regroup for a crucial game next Tuesday."

The Aggies will return home for a crucial conference matchup against Southwestern Christian University next Tuesday, October 15, at 5:00 PM at Anchor D Stadium at Carl Wooten Field
