OKLAHOMA CITY — The Sooner Athletic Conference announced its Men's Basketball Players of the Week from Nov. 3-9 on Monday, and Panhandle State's
Aaron Williams Jr. collected the honor for his impact on the offensive end of the court.
Playing in two games during the inaugural No Man's Land Classic, Williams Jr. was lights-out from three-point range, connecting on 13 of 21 attempts. The transfer guard finished the week averaging 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest.
In an 87-79 win Friday over the University of the Southwest, Williams Jr. poured in 18 points and added nine rebounds and five assists. He and teammate
Christian Campbell fueled the comeback victory, with each making key shots down the stretch.
On Saturday against Northern New Mexico, Williams Jr. made an astounding 9-of-14 treys as he scored 29 points to lead the Aggies.
Williams Jr. is the first Aggie to earn a SAC Basketball weekly honor since head coach
Charles Belt took over the program prior to the 2023-24 season. The award also marks the 15th that OPSU Athletics has garnered during the 2025-26 year from the SAC.
Williams Jr. and the OPSU men's basketball team have this week off as they gear up for conference play beginning Nov. 20.
