WILLOW PARK, Texas — The Oklahoma Panhandle State University women's golf team concluded its final regular season competition ahead of the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship, competing in the TXWES Spring Invitational hosted by Texas Wesleyan University at Squaw Creek Golf Course from April 14-15.
Senior Caitlyn Ambrose is leading the way, finishing 22nd overall in a strong field of competitors.
Ambrose posted 90, 82, and 81 rounds across the 5,835-yard, par-72 layout. She steadily improved over the two-day, three-round event, carding her best score in the final round, highlighted by consistency off the tee and on the greens. Her final tally placed her at +28 for the tournament.
Mercedes Vasquez secured a 34th-place finish, carding rounds of 93, 95, and 99. Vasquez's opening nine holes in round one showed promise with a +10 front nine.
Mallory Maltese rounded out the Aggie lineup in 36th place with 92, 102, and 102 rounds. Maltese showed flashes of strong play, including a steady opening round highlighted by a +8 on the front nine.
The Aggies will now set their sights on the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference Championship on April 28th-29th in Oklahoma City, OK.
