Women's Golf: Wraps Up 2025 SAC Championship
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The women's golf team took on one of the most challenging tracks in the Sooner Athletic Conference this week, competing as individuals at the 2025 SAC Championship hosted by Oklahoma City University at Twin Hills Golf & Country Club. The par-72 course is 6,026 yards long.
Caitlyn Ambrose – Three-Round Total: 263 (85-91-87) | +47
Ambrose opened with an 85 (+13), followed by a 91 (+19) in round two. On day three, she bounced back with her most balanced tournament round, carding an 87 (+15), highlighted by steady play on both sides of the course. Ambrose played the par-3s particularly well in the final round and finished with only one double bogey on the back nine.
Mercedes Vasquez – Three-Round Total: 313 (98-108-105) | +95
She opened with a 98 in Round 1, highlighted by steady play on the front nine, carding pars on the 4th and 5th holes and limiting big numbers early. In Round 2, Vasquez fought through a tough back nine to finish with a 108, finding a rhythm with pars on holes 7 and 10. Her final round score of 105 saw a stronger performance on the inward nine, where she recorded five pars—including the 10th, 11th, and 14th holes—to close out her tournament.
Mallory Maltese – Three-Round Total: 313 (105-100-108) | +97
Maltese opened the tournament with a 105, displaying consistency on both sides of the course. She improved significantly in Round 2, posting a 100 behind back-to-back 50s for each nine and notching five pars, including strong play on the par-3s. Her final round of 108 featured a front nine 58 but saw her bounce back with another 50 on the back nine.
The SAC Championship marked the final 2024-25 season event for the Aggies.
