MANHATTAN, Kan. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State Rodeo teams opened their 2026 slates at the K-State Rodeo in Manhattan, Kansas, where the women's team placed seventh and the men's team took ninth overall. Both placements finished near the middle of the pack for the Kansas State-hosted rodeo.
Individually, Luke Tippman was the Aggies' top performer, sweeping third-place finishes in the long-go, short-go and the average in bareback riding.
Men's Performances
Tippmann highlighted the men's team as the lone participant qualifying for finals. He opened with a score of 75 in the long-go before notching a score of 74 in the second round, earning 120 total points to take third in the average.
Women's Performances
Camree Slavin took seventh in the average of goat tying, starting strong with a first-round time of 7.4 seconds, followed by an 8.0-second performance in the final go.
Emilee Carroll improved on her long-go time in the barrel racing in the short-go by 0.5 seconds, stopping the clock at 16.13 seconds. Her combined time of 32.31 seconds was 0.01 seconds off of earning points for the team.
The OPSU women had several other solid showings in the long round among those who did not make the short-go.
Cierra Rimer missed out on qualifying for the breakaway roping short-go by 0.2 seconds, recording a time of 2.9 seconds in the long round.
Talara Nittler and
Kiley Slavin also fell just short of making finals in the goat tying, each completing the long go in 8.5 seconds.
What's up next: The Aggies look for more rodeo members to qualify for the short-go when the teams head to Fort Scott, Kansas, for their next rodeo in the spring season held March 13-15.
