TYLER, Texas – It will be an early wake-up call for the Oklahoma Panhandle State University football team for its Sooner Athletic Conference showdown at Texas College on Saturday. The Aggies (0-3, 0-1 SAC) and Steers (0-2, 0-1 SAC) will both be looking for their first victories of the season when the teams kickoff at the unusual hour of 11 a.m. at Tyler Rose Stadium.
The Aggies program will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of its first-ever football game, which took place on September 25, 1919.
There will be no links for either statistics of video available from Texas College. However, results will be updated via Twitter
(@OPSUathletics) during the contest and final stats will be posted as soon as possible.
NOTES:
THE SERIES: This will be the 12th meeting between Texas College and OPSU, with Panhandle holding the 10-1 advantage. The Steers won the first-ever meeting in 2007 (34-8), but the Aggies won the 10 succeeding meetings between the teams. The teams played uninterrupted from 2007-15, did not play in 2016 and then resumed the series in 2017.

WHEN LAST THEY MET: In the 2018 season, a rousing first quarter performance saw Panhandle put 21 points on the board in under eight minutes time on its way to a 42-0 win in Goodwell. Junior running back
Carlos Ransburgh collected the first three touchdowns of the day, scoring on run plays of seven yards, 40 yards and two yards, respectively. Ransburgh tallied 48 yards on five carries for the day. Defensively, Panhandle State did not allow the Steers to enter the red zone once throughout the entire game.
Diamante Pounds posted his best game of the season taking down 6.5 tackles, four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, in addition to forcing one fumble and recovering two.
SCOUTING THE STEERS: Texas College has dropped games to Lane College (27-0) and a SAC game to Lyon College (32-17) to open 2019. TC leads the SAC in Sacks per Game at 4.5. The Steers have a SAC-best +1.0 per game average in Takeaways.
AGGIES AT-A-GLANCE: Panhandle enters the game 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the SAC. The Aggies are coming off of a 35-14 setback at No. 19 Langston University last Saturday.

Tony Brown a five-yard TD run.
ROAD WARRIORS: The game at Texas College will be the
fourth of four-consecutive games on the road to begin 2019 for OPSU. The Aggies will not see Anchor D Stadium until October 5.
WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?: Panhandle's
Tony Brown has one of the top rushing games in the SAC this season with his 155-yard effort at Hastings (8/31/19).
GOOD BEHAVIOR: OPSU is the least-penalized team in the SAC at an average of 41.0 yards per game and 5.0 penalties per game.
