Box Score McPHERSON, Kan. - Oklahoma Panhandle State University's women's soccer team clawed back from a big halftime deficit, but fell short in the end, 4-3. The non-conference road loss dropped the Aggies to 1-2.
Panhandle State found itself down, 3-0, midway through the first half. CCC tallied goals in the 22nd, 25th and 29th minutes.
After halftime, the Aggies wasted little time cutting into the deficit.
Alyssa Kemp's goal at the 48:15 mark sliced the margin to 3-1.
In the 61st minute,
Brooklyn Yawson took a pass from
Ariana Ramirez and sent the ball past Tigers' goalie Goldie Bougher, making it 3-2.
With around three minutes remaining in regulation, OPSU forged a tie thanks to Kemp. With 86:58 elapsed of the 90-minute regulation segment, Kemp netted her second goal of the match and tied matters at 3-3.
It looked as though the match would head to overtime until, with just 30 seconds left to play, Panhandle State was whistled for a foul in the box and CCC was awarded a penalty kick. The Tigers converted to PK that helped them escape the Aggies' furious second-half rally.
