Women's Golf falls to Friends

DERBY, Kan. - The Oklahoma Panhandle State University women's golf team was out-dueled in a head-to-head match versus Friends University, 706-768, at the Derby Golf and Country Club course on Monday and Tuesday.
 
Freshman Kaitlyn Berry – a former Stratford High School product – led the Aggies. Berry was one stroke off the winning score, as she fired an aggregate 168 (86-82) for her two rounds.
 
Junior teammate Mattie Grumbles went 90-88=178 and earned a fourth place finish. OPSU's third scoring player was newcomer Cheyenne Gutierrez with a 95-104=199 final tally. Gracie Huntress was Panhandle's fourth competitor with a final 223 for the 36-hole event.
 
The match was the last of the fall portion of Panhandle State's 2020-21 season.
