OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Oklahoma Panhandle State University's Matt Hernandez (Killeen, Texas) finished atop this week voting for football's Defensive Player of the Week. Marking the first SAC player of the week award for Aggie football of the year. 

As a senior on the Aggie defense, Hernandez headlined in the Aggies' 20-13 win over Wayland Baptist. His stand-out performance includes 7 solo tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 2 crucial 3rd down sacks. Hernandez now finds himself with 8.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks on the season. Making him top-5 in the conference and number one on the team in those categories.
