GOODWELL, Okla. – Aggie football team fired up (3-3)(3-2) for their 2022 Homecoming week as they won 28-16 over Louisiana Christian University 1-4 (1-3).
In the heavy emotional game, the Aggies battled with the wildcats. The first quarter was a defensive battle until freshman
Quincy Jones steered it in for a touchdown. Then, moving into the second quarter, Sophomore
Brandon Stephens would connect with
Jaishone Brown on a 7-yard pass, scoring 14-0 Aggies.
Wildcats would respond with four minutes left in the second quarter creating a score of 14-7.
No team would score in the 3rd quarter, Aggies would get the ball in the 4th quarter, and on their first drive, Stephens would hit an 80-yard bomb to Brown to connect for the second time in the game. Wildcats would score with 6 minutes left in the game, but Aggie's defense would seal the game with an interception.
On the defensive side, Sophomore
Khavia Reese would record two interceptions. Junior
Kameron Dickerson would lead the defense with five solo tackles, the last time the Aggies won three straight games was in 2018.
After the game, coach Majeski stated, "I'm proud of these assistant coaches and these young players; we are starting to come together as a team, and I want us to be the best team that we can be"
The Aggies will be home next week, taking on Wayland Baptist University at 2:00 PM.
