Oklahoma City – After an exciting final week of the regular season, John Brown University has earned the top seed via tiebreakers in the 2024 Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championships. The Golden Eagles join Science & Arts and Mid-America Christian as tri-champions as all three tied for the regular season title with identical 8-1 records.
The Golden Eagles claimed a part of the conference title for the eighth time in program history. Science & Arts earned the No. 2 seed over No. 3 Mid-America Christian via their head-to-head win earlier this season while Oklahoma City will start the tournament as the No. 4 seed.
All first-round contests will be contested on Monday, Nov. 4, with all games starting at 7 p.m.
John Brown will open postseason action against No. 8 seed Panhandle State at Alumni Field in Siloam Springs, Ark. The Golden Eagles wrapped up the regular season with an overall record of 11-5-1 and a league mark of 8-1. The Aggies will participate in the postseason tournament for the first time in program history with an overall record of 4-11 and a league mark of 2-7. The Golden Eagles won the regular season contest against Panhandle State by a score of 4-1 on Oct. 26, 2024.
Science & Arts will play host No. 7 seed Southwestern Christian at McLaughlin Field in Chickasha, Okla. The Drovers finished the season with an overall mark of 15-1-1 and an 8-1 record in conference action. The Eagles wrapped up the regular season with an overall mark of 3-7-5 and a conference record of 2-6-1. Science & Arts defeated Southwestern Christian 3-1 in the regular season matchup on Oct. 19, 2024.
Mid-America Christian will take on No. 6 seed Texas Wesleyan at Dill Soccer Field in Oklahoma City. The Evangels ended the 2024 season with an overall record of 13-2-2 and an 8-1 league record. The Rams enter the postseason with an overall record of 4-10-3 and finished league play with a record of 2-5-2. Mid-America Christian won the regular season contest against Texas Wesleyan by a score of 3-1.
The Stars will take on No. 5 seed Nelson at Brian Harvey Field in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City completed the season with an overall mark of 9-5-1 and a league record of 5-3-1 while the Lions finished the campaign with an overall mark of 10-8 and 5-4 in conference action. The Stars defeated Nelson 3-1 in their regular season contest on Oct. 22, 2024.
The conference semifinals will take place on Friday, November 8, at the home of the highest remaining seed, with the championship game being contested on Monday, November 12.
