WINDSOR, Col. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State men's golf team concluded its fall season on Tuesday, following three rounds of play at the prestigious RainDance National Resort and Golf Course.
 
The "Battle at the Dance" event, hosted by Hastings College and held on the longest course in the United States when played at its maximum length, saw 10 teams compete with Rocky Mountain claiming the title at 22-over, 886. The tournament also featured preseason No. 7 Ottawa University – Arizona and two squads from RV Hastings.
 
OPSU shot 983 as a team to take 10th, highlighted by a second-round 321 that tied Mount Marty and beat Briar Cliff and Midland over the 18-hole span.
 
Paul Mercado bounced back from a tough opening round to lead the Aggies with consecutive scorecards reading six-over, 78. The Alamo, Texas, native made five birdies Tuesday on the 7,759-yard layout with a 76.2 course rating, as he closed his tournament with a 54-hole total of 242.
 
Worathan Thammachokecharoen was one shot behind Mercado, finishing at 27-over, 243. His second round Monday of 78 was the senior's best.
 
Fellow Thailand native Thantup Saengvut played solid golf on Monday with rounds of 80 and 81, highlighted by a stretch of three birdies in a six-hole span during the second round.
 
Takudzwa Basopo turned in his best scorecard of the fall with an opening-round 79 that led OPSU. Three birdies and eight pars helped the senior overcome a quadruple bogey across his first 18 holes.
 
After struggling on day one, Xavyer Mosqueda bounced back Tuesday with a front-nine 38 en route to shooting 83.
