OKLAHOMA CITY — Thantup Saengvut claimed the Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week honor from Sept. 22-28 following his career-best, third-place finish at the Central Plains Invitational.
 
The Thailand native was ultra consistent on the links at Sand Creek Station early last week, beginning with a career-low opening round of 70. He finished the first day firing 70-71 as he found himself in medalist contention heading into the final round on Sept. 23.
 
In soggy course conditions, Saengvut put together a third straight under-par round of 71 to take third place out of 42 individuals at the 6,872-yard course.
 
The senior tallied 10 birdies across the tournament, including five during his final round alone.
 
Saengvut's weekly honor is the first of his career, and it is the only SAC Golfer of the Week award in the past two seasons for the program.
