Fort Worth, Texas — The Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) Aggies men's and women's track and field teams hit the road this past week, competing in the three-day Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Championships held in Fort Worth, Texas. The Aggies made a strong showing, with the women finishing 4th overall with 102 points and the men earning a 5th place.
On the women's side, the team battled hard in a competitive field. John Brown University narrowly claimed the team title with 109 points, followed closely by Oklahoma City University (108 points) and Langston University (106 points), with OPSU right behind at 102 points.
Leading the charge for the Aggie women was standout sophomore Breyanna Kemp, who earned the SAC Most Outstanding Athlete of the Meet after an incredible performance. Kemp scored 25.50 points for the Aggies across multiple events. Kemp placed first 200-meter dash, clocking 25.04 seconds, and placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.70 seconds. Kemp also anchored three relay teams:
- Winning the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 47.80 seconds alongside teammates Paizlie Reyna-Mata ,Jamiah Clay, and Ashlynn Perez .
- Helping the Aggies to a third-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay at 10:10.82.
- Contributing to another third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, clocking in at 4:01.39.
On the men's side, Kamron Neal dominated the sprints, sweeping the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Neal raced to a blistering 10.42-second finish in the 100 meters and a 20.60-second finish in the 200 meters.
