OKLAHOMA CITY — Worathan Thammachokecharoen was honored as the Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboards Men's Golfer of the Week on Tuesday, recognizing his career performance occurring within the week of April 6-12.
Thammachokecharoen led the Aggies April 6-7 at the Lark Invitational, claiming eighth place individually in a competitive 85-man field. On the par-71, 6,726-yard Terradyne Country Club, the junior finished with a three-round score of 220 (76-75-69), with his final round tying a career low and marking his best score relative to par as an Aggie.
As a team, the Aggies' third-round 304 was their best of the spring season. Thammachokecharoen led the charge as he surged up the leaderboard, playing his final 17 holes bogey free at three-under. The Bangkok, Thailand, native's last round featured a four-hole stretch in which he made three birdies.
Thammachokecharoen's honor is the first of his career and second for the men's golf program in 2025-26. OPSU Athletics has picked up 23 SAC weekly awards throughout the academic year.
Panhandle State and Thammachokecharoen return to the course April 27-28 at The Territory Golf Club for the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship.
