DUNCAN, Okla. — Powered by an individual season-best and career-low 68 from
Worathan Thammachokecharoen, the Oklahoma Panhandle State men's golf team wrapped up the SAC Championship Tuesday at The Territory Golf Club by firing a score of 312 to secure sixth place.

No. 2 Oklahoma City University captured the championship at 19-under par, 845 in the three-round tournament, beating out a conference field loaded with three other NAIA Top-25 teams.

OPSU's final score came in at 950 (327-311-312), six strokes ahead of Central Christian.

Thammachokecharoen was blistering hot from the jump Tuesday, making a par on No. 1 before birdieing four of the next seven holes. He opened his round at four-under through eight, carding a three-under 33 on the front nine. The Bangkok, Thailand, native got back to four in the red with a birdie at the par-5 11th, but his score ticked back up to three-under as he teed off on No. 18, a par-4, 434-yard hole that played as the single toughest hole for competitors in the tournament. Thammachokecharoen, however, made birdie for a back-nine 35 to complete his career-best 68.

On the tournament, Thammachokecharoen shot three-over, 219 (76-75-68) to place tied-12th individually out of 39 finishers. The junior climbed nine spots up the leaderboard from his starting position Tuesday.

Thantup Saengvut overcame a rocky start Tuesday to post a 77 and finish his tournament 28th on the leaderboard.

Paul Mercado made two birdies en route to shooting 83 in the final round, while
Caden Lamm and
Takudzwa Basopo carded matching rounds of 43-41 84 Tuesday.

The SAC Championship is the final scheduled event of the 2025-26 season for Aggie men's golf. The program is set to graduate two seniors, Saengvut and Basopo.
