ANDOVER, Kan. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State men's golf team closed the Lark Invitational strong on Tuesday at Terradyne Country Club, putting together a spring season-low 304 behind
Worathan Thammachokecharoen's two-under 69, which tied for the lowest total score of his career.

For the three-round invite, OPSU compiled a score of 94-over, 946, improving each time out by firing 325-317-304. The Aggies' efforts placed them firmly in 10th out of 14 teams. Texas A&M San Antonio won the tournament with an 881.

Thammachokecharoen captured a top-10 individual finish as he surged 14 spots up the leaderboard Tuesday to solo-eighth place at seven-over par, 220. The junior paced the Aggies all three rounds Monday and Tuesday, posting scores of 76-75-69 on the par-71 course. After beginning his final round with a bogey, Thammachokecharoen played bogey-free golf the closing 17 holes, highlighted by making three birdies across a four-hole stretch in the middle of his round – all par fours.

Thantup Saengvut bounced back from an opening-round 82, ending his tournament with consecutive scores of 76. Individually, Saengvut took tied-45th in the 85-player event.

Caden Lamm was the next Aggie on the leaderboard, as the freshman improved by three strokes each round, capped by Tuesday's 80 during which Lamm avoided double bogeys or worse. Lamm had one eagle during the tournament, occurring on the par-five, 554-yard 18th hole in the opening round.

Paul Mercado started and finished the invite with solid rounds, including a closing-round 79. A birdie on his last hole helped the junior come in under 80.

Takudzwa Basopo rounded out the scoring, and he also birdied his final hole of the tournament. The senior improved each time out, shooting 83-82 across his final two rounds.

What's up next: The Aggies' next scheduled event is the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship, set to take place April 27-28 in Duncan, Oklahoma, at The Territory Golf Club.
