OKLAHOMA CITY — The Sooner Athletic Conference announced its Digital Scoreboards Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week from April 20-26, and Brittney Carrasco claimed the field award for her performances at the SAC Championships, hosted by Nelson.
 
Carrasco's honor is the first of her career, and it comes on the heels of an all-conference, runner-up showing in the hammer throw on April 24. The Guymon, Oklahoma, native put up a mark of 38.62 meters to take second place, earning the Aggies eight points toward their team score. That distance stands as the third best hammer throw for Panhandle State this season.
 
The sophomore also competed in the discus, where she finished 12th with a throw of 28.47 meters.
 
With the weekly award, Carrasco moved the Aggies' total to 24 SAC Athlete of the Week honors across all sports in the 2025-26 year. OPSU track & field has collected four of those honors, with the other three coming via fellow women's thrower, Avery Brown.
