GOODWELL, Okla. – The men's golf team of Oklahoma Panhandle State University – fresh off of a runner-up finish at last Saturday's "Clash of the Conferences" tourney - will travel to Oklahoma City for the 47th UC Ferguson Classic on Tuesday and Wednesday (Sept. 3-4) this week. The event is hosted by Oklahoma City University at the Lincoln Park Golf Course in OKC.
NOTES:
*THE FIELD: There are 14 teams scheduled to compete in the Ferguson Classic, including two NAIA-ranked foes: No. 3 host Oklahoma City and No. 21 Bellevue (Neb.).
*A SMASH AT "THE CLASH": OPSU's four freshmen in the starting line-up –
Dawson Frye (74),
Danny Millis (75),
Donald Harper (75) and
Darshan Gunasegar (76) - all finished in the top eight for the "Clash of the Conferences" tourney.
*WALK IN THE PARK: Lincoln Park rates as one of Oklahoma's finest public golf courses. Oklahoma City's oldest public golf course unveiled its new state-of-the-art $9.25 million club house in spring 2015. The course was designed by Art Jackson and built in 1923. It features bent grass on the greens and Bermuda grass on the fairways.
