Panhandle State took off to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater this past weekend. The men's team placed fifth overall, and the women's team had some tough luck as a whole.

The rough stock riders made sure no one forgot who wore the blue and red vest for Panhandle State. In the saddle Bronc Riding junior, Brett Coffman, has kept his momentum through the fall. He stayed focused marking 73-points in the long round and 76-points in the short go which placed second in both. Coffman's steady pace won the average for the weekend. He was joined by classmates Caleb Newell and Bailey Small. Newell placed fourth in the long round with 70.5-point ride and Small came in towards to bottom placing eighth to make it back. Small prevailed in the short go marking 75-points to place third in the round and split third and fourth in the average. Newell failed to make the whistle and walked out with a no score.

Lalo Aguilar, junior, continues to build on his momentum through the season in the Bull Riding. He made a clean sweep winning the long round, marking the highest score of 80-points for the weekend in the short go, and was crowned the average champion.

At the roping chutes upperclassmen, Cooper Slavin and Bailey Small, made clean runs in the Tie Down Roping. They were accompanied by sophomore, Matt Doherty, who was 10.4-seconds in the long round to place seventh. Just behind him was junior, Slavin, placing eighth and senior, Small, placing tenth. Slavin made a smart run to stay in the average with a 11.2-second run placing sixth in the short go and average. Small was a little longer then he wanted but was clean at the barrier making a 12.5-second run to place eighth in the round and in the average. Doherty got a speeding ticket at the barrier which put him eleventh in the round and overall.

Slavin and Doherty showed their ability to be all-around cowboys as they placed eleventh with a 7.5-second run in the Team Roping together. They with joined by teammate and senior, Ry Clark, who was heeling for Jacob Herren from Northwester Oklahoma State University. Clark and Herren were 6.7-seconds on their long round run. It was a competitive long round to make it back to the Saturday night lights, and unfortunately OPSU cowboys walked out with no times.

Junior, Tori Kinz, wasn't about to let the men's team have all the success and she dominated the Breakaway Roping. She was Miss Consistent being 2.8-seconds on both of calves placing third in the long round and winning the short go. Kinz won the average being 5.2-seconds on two overall. She was joined by teammate, Rillie Ratliff, who was 3.1-second to split ninth and tenth in the long round. With no luck in the short go, she was a no time taking her out of the average.

The Aggies will take the weekend off from the road to practice before they head to the last fall rodeo. Over Halloween weekend, the cowboys and cowgirls will dress up at the winners they are as they compete in Alva at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
