Goodwell, OK—The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Shooting Sports team encountered unexpected difficulties and unpredictable weather at the Bronco Invitational over the weekend, held in Grand Island, Nebraska. The challenges tested the team's resilience and adaptability.

The morning began with temperatures in the 50s, only to climb into the 80s by midday, making it difficult for athletes to maintain consistency as they adjusted to the fluctuating conditions. Adding to the adversity, one OPSU shooter experienced mechanical issues with their firearm, forcing them to use five different guns in a single event.

Despite these setbacks, the Aggies showed grit and determination. Emily Robertson delivered a standout performance, capturing the top spot in the women's skeet event with a remarkable score of 96. Emily continued to lead the team by recording the highest OPSU score in the trap event, shooting an 89.

On the men's side, John Lindley also demonstrated impressive marksmanship under challenging circumstances, posting the second-highest trap score for the Aggies with an 82. Both athletes exemplified the resilience and competitive spirit that define OPSU Shooting Sports.

The Bronco Invitational served as a learning experience for the Aggies, who will look to regroup and refine their skills as they prepare for their upcoming competitions.
