GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State shooting sports team defeated six collegiate squads en route to taking 13th place at the 2025 Greater Midwest Super Shoot over the weekend.
Competing against a talented array of shooting teams in the region, OPSU's team score ended up at 1,306 of a possible 2,000, just 10 shy of making the top dozen.
Zach Willis put together the best HOA for the Aggies with a score of 305, good for 29th of 59 in the men's division. He placed first or second on the squad in all five shooting categories, including topping OPSU in doubles skeet and super sporting.
Not far behind was
John Lindley at 295, highlighted by an Aggie-best score of 85 in American skeet.
Austin Tipton shot 93 of 100 targets in American trap, with Willis and Lindley notching scores of 88 and 83 in the category, respectively.
Luke Yelton tied for the second highest score on the team in super sporting, blasting 23 of 50 targets.
What's up next: OPSU heads to Lincoln, Nebraska, on Oct. 26-27 for the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Southeast Community College.
