Goodwell, OK. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State University men's and women's rodeo teams competed this past weekend at the Fort Hays State University College Rodeo, continuing their spring campaign with grit, determination, and several standout performances. The Aggie women's team finished fourth overall, while the men's team wrapped up the weekend in a tie for 10th and 11th.

Aggie's representation was strong in the short round of the goat tying. Camree Slavin entered the short round in the top spot after an 8.0-second run in the long round. She followed with a 10.4-second time but narrowly missed the average payout. Katie Anderson also made a short-round appearance after an 8.9-second run, which placed her in a tie for 12th and 13th. She followed with a 10.7-second run but fell just outside the average standings.

Parker McIntyre led the charge for the Aggie women, who delivered one of the best weekend performances in the goat tying. After clocking an 8.7-second run in the long round—placing her in a tie for 6th through 9th—McIntyre returned with a mission in the short round. She stopped the clock at a blazing 7.6 seconds, the fastest time of the weekend, earning a first-place finish in both the short round and the average.

In the breakaway roping, Jessie Stillings opened strong with a 2.8-second run in the long round, splitting 5th and 6th heading into the short round. Despite a valiant effort, Stillings recorded a no-time in the short round, taking her out of the average payout.

Matt Doherty made a solid run on the men's side in the tie-down roping. After an 11.7-second run in the long round, he was placed in a tie for 11th and 12th. Doherty improved in the short round with an 11.5-second run, landing him 6th in the average.

Zane Kreikemeier came out hot in the tie-down roping, turning in a 9.2-second time in the long round, good enough for second going into the short round. However, a barrier penalty in the short round resulted in a 22.3-second run, knocking him out of the average race.

Porter Hall consistently delivered back-to-back 11.5-second runs in the tie-down roping. His performance earned him 5th in the average. Hall also made an appearance in the short round of the team roping after he and his partner turned in a solid 9.1-second run in the long round. Unfortunately, an illegal head catch in the short round took them out of average contention.

In the roughstock events, Buster Reis and Cade Bell represented OPSU in saddle bronc riding. Reis earned a 69.5-point ride in the long round, placing him 11th. However, he received a no score in the short round after a matchup with a tough horse. Bell turned in a 71-point score in the long round, followed by a 71.5-point effort in the short round. While consistent, it wasn't enough to break into the average payout.

Bell also competed in steer wrestling, turning in a 12.0-second run in the long round to snag the 12th spot heading into the short round. A no-time in the short round kept him out of the average standings.
