GUYMON, Okla. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State University men's and women's rodeo teams put up an intense fight this weekend at the hometown Doc Gardner Memorial Rodeo. In a competitive field filled with the best from the Central Plains Region, the Aggie men finished seventh overall, while the Aggie women claimed a fifth-place team finish.

On the men's side, Porter Hall turned in a consistent performance in tie-down roping. Hall posted a time of 13.0 seconds in the long round, securing the No. 12 spot going into the short round. He matched that 13.0-second time in the short round, but a barrier penalty pushed his time to 23.0 seconds, knocking him out of the average money.

Matt Doherty had a standout long round in the tie-down roping, clocking an impressive 9.6-second run to top the leaderboard. However, a tough break in the short round resulted in a no-time, removing him from contention for an average title.

In the saddle bronc riding, Kody Cavender posted a 69-point ride in the long round, splitting 7th-9th place heading into the short round. Cavender matched his score with another 69 points in the short round, finishing with 138 points on two head, but falling just outside of the average money.

Cade Bell competed in the steer wrestling, turning in a 16.7-second run in the long round to secure the 12th-place position heading into the short round. Unfortunately, Bell was unable to stop the clock in the short round. Bell also teamed up with Camree Slavin in the team roping, where the duo clocked an outstanding 6.7-second run to split 1st and 2nd place in the long round. However, they were unable to stop the clock in the short round.

On the women's side, Camree Slavin continued her strong showing, turning in a time of 8.2 seconds in goat tying to secure a 2nd-place finish in the long round. Slavin followed up with a 9.3-second short-round run, tying for 4th–6th place in the average.

Parker McIntyre was also a force in goat tying, posting the fastest time of the weekend with an 8.0-second run to win the long round. McIntyre added a 9.9-second run in the short round but fell just outside the average money. Parker capped off her season ranked No. 2 in the Central Plains Region standings and will represent OPSU at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, Wyoming, June 15–21, 2025, competing in goat tying.

In barrel racing, Ryker Goodman punched her ticket to the short round with an 18.23-second run in the long round. Goodman posted an 18.40-second run in the short round, narrowly missing average money.

Kamry Knotwell made a strong showing in the breakaway roping, turning in a 3.4-second run to split 9th–12th place in the long round. However, Knotwell came up empty in the short round.

The Aggies now focus on preparing for the College National Finals Rodeo, where McIntyre will represent Panhandle State nationally.
