GOODWELL, Okla. — Oklahoma Panhandle State University recently welcomed Gabe Stoesz to lead the Aggies' athletic communication efforts as their sports information director.

Stoesz is familiar with the NAIA, as he spent the past two years as an assistant sports information director for Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.

"I am excited to further my passion for athletic communications here at OPSU. From when I started the interview process, Athletics Director Victor Esparza and the staff could not have been more welcoming," Stoesz said. "Great things are happening at Panhandle State, within the Sooner Athletic Conference and throughout the NAIA, and I can't wait to promote our Aggie student-athletes and teams."

While at Taylor, Stoesz served as the primary media contact for eight total sports. His time at TU was highlighted by leading communication efforts surrounding the hosting of both the 2024 and 2025 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Rounds – Upland Bracket.

He also covered an individual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Champion, and he saw eight of his nominated student-athletes earn CSC Academic All-American honors and four earn NAIA National Athlete of the Week Awards.

"We're thrilled to have Gabe as an Aggie," Esparza said. "His track record of delivering high-quality sports information at the NAIA level and his dedication to highlighting all facets of student-athlete success make him a great fit to lead our athletic communications office. I'm looking forward to see how he can grow our tremendous Aggie brand."

Stoesz is a native of Minnesota, where he earned his bachelor's degree in communication from Bethany Lutheran College and was a five-season member of its NCAA Division-III men's golf program.
